Slowly, slowly

Yesterday, Saturday 28 April, I walked around to the Pathology Collection Centre opposite Auburn Hospital. Then, in a moment of what many may see as complete madness, I walked to Auburn Shopping Centre. I stopped for a while in the shopping centre. Firstly at Oporto for a quick snack, and then checked out the new Cincotta Chemist in the old Woolworths store. I then walked back home.

For those who wanted to put me out to pasture, this will be very bad news. I have always said I am not going to sit around waiting to fall off the perch. For everyone else, it is certainly a good sign. As I have said before, I am still a long, long way from being back to normal, but their are certainly signs of improvement.

2012 - Year of the Farmer

Easter Show 2012

Well, in my biggest week in close to 12 months, I have spent 2 days at the 2012 Sydney Royal Easter Show.

My favourite of course was the woodchopping. The only comment I would make as I get older is that maybe they need to think about individual seating both at the woodchop and the dogs. I realise this may not be possible due to the way the stands were originally constructed.

The main arena is looking good and getting closer to being finished. There is certainly some room for picking up the entertainment in the main arena especially after the horse events are finished. I like the rodeo, tentpegging, police musical ride,.... but some of the singers were just a little ordinary. At one stage every one around me was on their iPhone or iPad because things in the arena were getting boring.

I didn't go near the amusement rides or showbags. Nothing new with that.

My only other comment is that in the members section the only food available was either in the Charley Restaurant and Hordern Cafe, and a little bit of an ice-cream bar. Otherwise, you have to get your food before you come in or leave and then come back.

As always I am already looking forward to the 2013 Show.

Paramatta now last

How many more excuses do Parramatta need? They are now last, yes, stone motherless last. The whole place needs a good clean out from top to bottom. The players, the coaches, the administration - no one appears to be showing any enthusiasm or passion at all.
